Virgilio

Virgilio represents a comprehensive system comprising four key components: Tactile 3D Floral Representations, Braille Labeller, Walking Stick Navigation Device, and Specialized Navigation Tiles. This system is specifically crafted to enhance accessibility for visually impaired individuals within botanic gardens and parks.
The primary goal in designing Virgilio was to ensure accessibility while seamlessly integrating into the natural context. The regenerative approach served as a guiding principle, influencing the product system's construction through the utilization of circular and sustainable production techniques. An integral aspect of this design is the construction of the product in a disassemblable and recyclable manner, allowing for the future reuse of materials post-decommissioning.
The entire system is thoughtfully designed to integrate harmoniously with the park surroundings, prioritizing the promotion of inclusion. Consequently, Virgilio not only facilitates accessibility but also contributes significantly to enhancing the overall park experience. It plays a pivotal role in fostering social inclusion and active involvement of visually impaired individuals, thereby enriching the park environment.
