about me
I am a product designer from Cologne.

A brief insight into
my design perspective
Throughout my design career, I have explored the relationship between people and objects. I find it exciting and meaningful to improve and intensify this connection, which exists quite naturally. Products can have something about them that enchants and this is exciting to explore. I personally have a soft spot for industrial products because they make me feel incredibly well-equipped and professional, even when performing the smallest tasks in my private life. I take good care of them and enjoy using them. If such a connection can be created, it can have a positive social impact counteract a consumer society in which ever-changing stimuli determine purchasing behaviour. I apply this approach of creating a connection in my work. In order to design objects today, it is important to think beyond simply creating another alternative to existing products. I am a big believer in integrating playful approaches into design concepts, as the user experience can also have a lot to do with emotional associations, and therefore a fascinating or exciting use of objects can influence the relationship between humans and objects. I find it really exciting to reconnect different components of our daily lives through objects in order to achieve a completely new perspective and quality of life. In design processes, it is very important to me to create valuable transfer ideas. One example of this, in my opinion is Picasso's creation of Cubism based on the idea that he realized that what paintings had often attempted to do up to that point could be depicted more accurately by photography, creating a new need for the representation of scenes. For this reason, I initially start my experiments and design proposals in a speculative area. In my experience, speculating about what the best outcome would be and then trying to reconcile that with today’s reality or tomorrow’s reality leads to incredibly good results. That is why I consider myself a speculative designer with a playful realistic approach. Creating ideas together and being inspired by each other is a very important part of design.
